My teaching and mentoring philosophy have been foundational since I was very young and continued through adulthood. My spiritual upbringing and strong educational ethics were promoted by my parents and my siblings. My lineage of educators include a maternal grandmother, aunties, sisters and cousins who have impacted thousands of lives through the decades. My strong desire to see that every person has an opportunity to engage in the My maternal grandmother was an educator as well and as a result, I had two aunties who pursued teaching for 30 years each. Two of my older sisters, and a host of cousins were educators who have impacted many lives from early childhood education through college. My other sister was an Accountant and Entrepreneur who impressed upon me the value of creating and running your own business, thus my business concept came to fruition.

I believe in respectful interactions with everyone, and as a result, people gravitate toward me. This is a result of my positive persona. In teaching, I learned that you must first understand that there is no “immediate” gratification in the profession. You must first gain a mutually respectful environment before any true education can begin: “they won’t care what you know until they know that you care”. Therefore, time must be established to lay the groundwork for mutually beneficial relationships to form.
